Types of construction or industrial accidents.

Workers' compensation applications are typically based on allegations of carelessness or negligence due to employers not following OSHA standards. The most common causes of injury on construction sites:

  • Falls. Most construction sites require work at heights. Owners and general contractors must install guardrails and other devices — but often cut corners to save money, leading to worker injuries.
  • Falling objects. Building materials, tools, equipment, site trash, ladders, scaffolding, cranes, or crane loads striking workers on the ground or lower levels.
  • Dangerous or defective tools and machinery. Improperly designed equipment or inadequate safety equipment.
  • Employer negligence. Contractors hiring without verifying skills, failing to train, or failing to supervise.
  • Motor vehicle accidents. Delivery trucks, excavators, heavy machinery — without marked pathways, workers are at serious risk.
